THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Teachers from different schools all over the Edmonton Area came together to collaborate in the art of Improvisation. Not only did the students get an opportunity to learn from one another, but the teachers were able to facilitate theatre in roles they may not otherwise have the opportunity to have. Technical improvisation, coaching, hosting, and providing feedback on the work of all students.
THE STORY
Come to watch local highschool improv teams gather to showcase their skill! Come out for a hot dog and sodapop and see the up and comers of our improv community at their best! The Vanguard Improv Showcase is a monthly improv showcase for high school and junior high improvisers, presented in conjunction with The Grindstone Comedy Theatre & Bistro! Once per month, students and teachers from schools in and around Edmonton meet at the Grindstone for an evening of improv workshops, followed by a collaborative, non-competitive improv show with teams made up of students from each of the participating schools.
UPDATE: The Showcase is currently on hold due to the COVID-19 outbreak, but stay tuned for updates on our next season of improv!
